How do I connect to old computers to make a new fast computer?

adamcadaver1 asked:

Hey I have a G4 laptop and a G3 iMac, is there anyway I could hook them up so they use their processing power together. I know there are dual core comps now and I saw a story about a super computer being made by joining up loads of computers, so is it possible to hook mine up to get a little more out of my money?
