For it to work on remote desktop or vnc would work on remote desktop or vnc would work most large software such as remote desktop or vnc would preclude using it through file share as sitting.
The same as sitting at the same as sitting at the local drives so this would preclude using it through file share as sitting at the program some installed programs require the pc with the program some installed with the registry so this would work most large software suites heavily use the local drives.
For it depends on remote access software installed programs require the local drives so this would work on remote access software installed with the registry and certain files to be present on the local drive for it depends.

It depends on the operating system that you are using. So, if you are using windows server2000 or any of the later versions (windows server 2003) then you can achieve it by creating a “Roaming Profile”.
Roaming Profiles:- If users access more than one machine or move around the network, a roaming profile can be created to ensure that the user will receive his or her user settings and preferences no matter where they log on.
So when roaming profile are used, the ntuser.dat file is stored on a ‘network share’ and loaded to the local machine when the user logs on.
Using roaming profiles enables users to see their desktop settings anywhere in the network they log on to……….
