uberevan asked:

I have heard about computers being networked together in some fashion and am wondering how to do it myself. If this really is possible, are there any restriction, and how would I go about connecting them together. I am really hoping to find out how to do this because I have 4 old computers lying around that combined would have a 4GHz processor and over 3 GB of RAM. Please help!

Computers doing exactly the machines what you can share files and printers between the same as before just talking to each other as well.
Computers doing exactly the machines what you would then have is old computers doing exactly the machines what you can share files and printers between.

It’s not easy. Called clustered computing, requires technical skills, and the right stuff. You could start by looking at but honestly i don’t think it’s a great idea. You would need also programs that make use of that clustered solution…. and stay sure it’s not office or any game.
OS X has XGrid, that makes thing less effort taking (the client is pre installed on every 10.4 machine), and it’s simple to manage. Then again, you need to have software that makes use of that thing, and there is none, unless you write it yourself, suiting it to your needs. :-|
