I have two windows XP computers and a 5-port workgroup hub, What steps do I take to make a connection. How do I find the IP address of each computer?

    Open a command prompt.

Type in “ipconfig /all” and that will show you the IP address of the box.

They need to be on the same IP network, of course.

The hub go to control panelnetwork connections and make sure you have different ip address for each computer.

For assigning addresses automatically just add router or internet gateway with dhcp server like youd find internet protocol in the control panel.
For assigning addresses automatically just manually assign unique ip address to 254 subnet mask is then 2552552550 gatewayrouter is also blank or network connections going on.
